From Kaohsiung (高雄) we took the High Speed Rail (with top speeds in excess of 200km/h) straight back to Taipei (台北), cutting through the whole island of Taiwan.

Taiwan XXV: National Museum of Marine Biology
After having that sumptuous breakfast, we went to visit the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (国立海洋生物博物馆). It was totally awesome.. we spent 3 hours and couldn't finish everything..
It even had whales at the entrance! (Just kidding..)
The aquariums were really very big.
Clown fish.
Starry starry waters.
Blue tang.
Underwater cave.
Monster lobster!
Tiny jellyfish.
Some giant structure outside the museum.
The view from one of the windows inside.
Really tall seaweed.
School of fishes.
Can't remember the name of this bird. Anybody? Tufted puffins (Thanks Ivy and Weixin)

XXI: Good Morning Alishan (阿里山)
A small path through the forest.
Our transport up (and down) the mountains.
A collapsed part of the rock wall after the heavy rain the previous night.
The glaring morning sun creating lens flares.
Sunlight filtered through the canopy of trees..

Taiwan XIX: Stars at Alishan (阿里山)
Back after another long hiatus. Been very busy in the hospital.. Here are some of my best shots of the stars on Alishan, taken at 4am. Enlarge them in Flickr to see the stars in their full glory =)
The light at top of the mountain ranges is apparently a military sentry.
More stars!
Anyone can identify the stars? =)
